Nicholas Sparks...
I don’t hate this man or his writing, I just hate his romantic fiction novels. He’s the man behind ‘Message in a Bottle’, ‘A Walk to Remember’, ‘The Notebook’, ‘Nights in Rodanthe’, ‘Dear John’ and ‘The Last Song’. I am solely blaming him for the unrealistic expectations of love that our generation of teenage girls have. I hate his romantic fiction novels because they are too sappy and unrealistic for my taste, he over dramatizes love. I’m not saying that he’s a bad writer, he wrote a book called ‘Three Weeks with my Brother’ which was non-fiction and a very touching novel. It’s about how him, his brother, and sister dealt with the aftermath of their parent’s death. That seems like such a beautiful, a story that is more tangible than his other novels. But I guess you have to write what appeals to your readers and what makes you the most money. But I wish that he would write more non-fiction novels because they’re more touching or maybe it’s just me and I just don’t like romantic fiction novels, I don’t know…
