Love is warming.
Please take a step back from
anything called “love” that’s leaving you cold.

You should banish any thoughts of how you may appear to others.

I won’t beg someone to love me. I learned long ago that there is no use in hopeless pleas of trying to make someone stay. I am too good to chase someone who does not know my worth and I am too wild to keep waiting for someone who doesn’t acknowledge my value. I want to be loved unconditionally. I shouldn’t have to fight so hard for it. I do not have the time to prove to someone that I am worth it. I shouldn’t have to prove any of that; I am worth more than that.

This means everything (via band-of-thieves)

Sometimes you’re driving, and you can’t figure out how the road exists and how it is paved in a way that seems as if it was always there. You can’t figure out how they mapped out roads in the first place, how someone thought of every intersection, every exit, names, streets, avenues….you can’t…

WOW.

If there’s one thing I wish for everyone to be is an artist. Whether a writer, painter, photographer, sculptor…. Leave something behind for your loved ones to remember you by. Our memories fault us. We’ll sadly forget the sound of your joy, your unique scent, what your embraces made us feel. But if you leave something behind, something that captures your personality, it’ll keep the wheels of our memory in motion.
My father and I wrote countless letters and cards to each other throughout the years. He wrote and kept all the love letters he wrote to my mother. As a writer, he chronicled the last 30 years of his life, the triumphs and failures alike. I’m thankful for the two things he left for me, his faith and his writings.

She still wears his band and watch.
I lost too. But it doesn’t compare.
Friends for 40 years.
Together for 27 years.

“Depression is hard to understand, because it is not a consistent state. Depression is rather like a virus, but like a virus, it has its manageable days and its acute, life-threatening flare-ups. You can be in a depression and still laugh at a friend’s joke or have a good night at dinner or manage…

We’ve all heard the saying “life goes on” but for those who are caught in trauma, the sad truth is that life simply doesn’t move on … Imprints of the trauma follow you everywhere … The present is always being influenced by the past.
